ABOUT THE OIL

Learn more about Zemër and our single-origin Kalinjot olive oil.
  • Zemër is made from Kalinjot, an olive variety grown almost exclusively in southern Albania. While many olive oils are blends sourced from multiple countries, ours comes from one region, one variety, and a producer we know personally.

  • Extra virgin olive oil is produced by mechanically crushing olives without chemical solvents. It must meet strict chemical and sensory standards, including low acidity. Zemër is extra virgin and cold-extracted.

  • We share only verified testing and certification information for each harvest. Customers may refer to the product label or contact us for documentation currently available for their batch. We do not publish testing claims unless Zemër has confirmed them.

  • Olive oil is freshest closest to its harvest date, rather than its bottling or best-by date. Flavor and naturally occurring compounds fade over time, especially after opening. We list the harvest date on every bottle so customers can understand the oil's freshness.

  • Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place away from direct light and heat. A cupboard away from the stove is ideal. Do not refrigerate it. Refrigeration can make olive oil appear cloudy or solid and does not improve its shelf life.

  • For the best flavor and freshness, we recommend using an opened bottle within 6–8 weeks. When unopened and properly stored, the oil may remain fresh for up to two years from the bottling date. Customers should always follow the date and storage guidance printed on the bottle.

  • Both. Extra virgin olive oil works well for sautéing, roasting, and baking. It can also be used uncooked over bread, vegetables, salads, and finished dishes.

  • Zemër is offered in a 1-liter glass bottle and a 3-liter bag-in-box. Current product availability is shown in the store.

ORDERING AND SHIPPING

Shipping, orders, returns, and pre-order information.
  • The destinations currently available are shown during checkout. If a customer's address is accepted and a shipping option appears, Zemër can ship there. Any seasonal or location restrictions will be displayed before payment.

  • Products are shipped in protective packaging designed to prevent damage during transit. If a product arrives damaged, please follow the damaged-order instructions in the policy below.

  • Orders move quickly into processing. Once processing begins, purchases and pre-orders cannot be cancelled, changed, or refunded. Please carefully confirm products, quantities, email address, and shipping address before ordering.

  • No. Olive oil is a perishable food product. For food-safety and quality reasons, Zemër cannot accept opened or unopened bottles after shipment because storage conditions can no longer be verified. All purchases and pre-orders are final sale, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

  • Contact Zemër within 7 calendar days after delivery. Include the order number and clear photographs of the damaged product, shipping box, packing materials, and shipping label. Keep the product and all packaging until Zemër confirms they may be discarded.

After the claim is reviewed and approved, Zemër will replace the same product, subject to availability. Damage claims are resolved with a replacement rather than a refund, except where applicable law requires another remedy.

  • Contact Zemër within 7 calendar days after delivery. Include the order number and a clear photograph of everything received. Once the issue is verified, Zemër will send the correct product or provide another remedy required by applicable law.

  • Check the delivery area, ask other household members or neighbors, and contact the shipping carrier first. Then contact Zemër with the order number so the shipment can be reviewed. Available remedies will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.

  • A pre-order reserves a product before it is ready to ship. Payment is collected when the order is placed. Any shipping window displayed at checkout is an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery date. Pre-orders are final sale and cannot be cancelled or refunded after processing begins, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Returns & Cancellations Policy

Because Zemër imports and bottles a perishable, single-origin food product, all purchases and pre-orders are final sale.

Zemër does not provide refunds, returns, exchanges, or cancellations after an order enters processing. This includes pre-orders. For food-safety and quality reasons, opened and unopened products cannot be returned after shipment because Zemër cannot verify how they were handled or stored after leaving its care.

Customers must report damaged or incorrect orders within 7 calendar days after delivery. The report must include the order number and clear photographs of the product, shipping box, packing materials, and shipping label. Customers must keep the product and packaging while Zemër reviews the claim.

Approved damage claims will be resolved by replacing the affected product with the same item, subject to availability. Incorrect orders will be corrected or otherwise resolved as required by applicable law.

If a customer believes there is a billing or order error, please contact Zemër before opening a payment dispute so the issue can be investigated promptly.

By placing an order, the customer authorizes the charge and acknowledges the final-sale terms presented during checkout. Zemër may maintain order, tracking, delivery, policy-acceptance, and customer-service records and may provide relevant records to a bank or payment provider when responding to a payment dispute.

This policy is subject to applicable consumer-protection laws. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.
